some serious trumpet playing

Here’s a great video that I found on YouTube of OSO Assistant principal trumpeter David Bamonte and Minnesota Orchestra Principal trumpeter Manny Laureano playing a particularly tough section from Aaron Copland’s great Symphony No. 3.

They’re playing the Portland workshop of master trumpet maker David G. Monette.

Now all we need are some vids of the OSO trumpet section in action!

Enjoy some major shreddage!

i LOVE the trumpet.

allow me to recommend a “take no prisoners” trumpet work by Andre Jolivet that might amuse and inspire the more intrepid trumpetistas out there:

Andre Jolivet – Heptade (1971) for Trumpet and Percussion

it’s a fine piece even-though it’s a “monster.”

D-Bob sez, check it out!
