a welcome sign?

This arrived in the mail on New Year’s Eve. Hoping it means work-related things are going to start happening soon! Fingers crossed!

I really hope so, Charles, even if it’s just what many other orchestras are doing, with virtual performances, reduced forces and so on. (Somehow I doubt we’ll be driving to Portland in February to hear Kirill play the Adès concerto…..) And I’d hate to think it was just a gift, or a marketing investment.

No, not marketing – definitely will be doing stuff in the coming months, but they’ve not told us what that exactly might be yet. But likely a wide range of different stuff, some of which will be performances of some kind.

Great news, Charles, looking forward to listening onward . . .

Oh, I recently heard that you fine folkz hired a new Music Director. We all await the official announcement sometime in the months ahead!
