arnica parallels concert now on sale!

The Arnica String Quartet will present a concert exploring the differences and similarities of two composers at the beginning of their careers – both past and present – in a concert entitled “Parallels: Music of Daniel Ott & Benjamin Britten”.

The concert will take place at the Community Music Center (CMC) Recital Hall (3350 SE Francis Street, Portland, OR) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011. General admission tickets are $20/adult, and $10/students with valid ID, and seniors. $40 for concert admission plus exclusive after concert reception at Hopworks Urban Brewpub. Tickets are available through the Oregon Symphony box office (923 SW Washington Street). Phone orders: 503-228-1353 or 1-800-228-7343. Box office hours are 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Tickets also available at the door one hour before performance time, cash or check only (reception tickets not available at the door).

The concert will feature works of each composer presented in parallel: viola & piano, oboe & string trio, and string quartet. Each work was composed at approximately the same time in each composer’s life and phase of musical development.

i hope you folks will get to his 2nd & 3rd sqs sometime down the road.these great works are under-performed in the usa.
