seattle opera season announced

David Stabler has provided an outline of the upcoming ’08-’09 season of the Seattle Opera, which begins with Aida in August. What I’m totally psyched about (and I hope I can go see) is the double bill of Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle and Schoenberg’s Erwartung. Too cool!!

    And my buddy, John Relyea, is singing Bluebeard, which is awesome, since I know that is the kind of role he will really excel at! (He’s mostly does the basso parts in Mozart and bel canto stuff these days, but I know he really digs the darker parts, too.)
