{"id":7884,"date":"2012-09-26T18:41:23","date_gmt":"2012-09-27T01:41:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/?p=7884"},"modified":"2013-02-07T21:14:22","modified_gmt":"2013-02-08T05:14:22","slug":"atlanta-symphony-reaches-settlement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/2012\/09\/26\/atlanta-symphony-reaches-settlement\/","title":{"rendered":"atlanta symphony reaches settlement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From a press release issued by the Atlanta Symphony Musicians today, Sept. 26, 2012:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Players Association (ASOPA) announced that the musicians voted to accept a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the term of September 23, 2012 \u2013 September 6, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In an unprecedented and extremely painful move designed to keep the music going, ASOPA agreed to every dollar in concessions that the Woodruff Arts Center (WAC) and ASO management have demanded since the lockout began on August 25. In the interest of continuing to bring music to the community and opening the season on time, ASOPA has accepted $5.2 million in concessions over a brief two-year agreement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Those charged with overseeing the ASO have done historic damage to the future of the Orchestra by insisting on an arbitrary \u201cmusicians\u2019 share\u201d of $5.2 million.
