Now imagine that you own a rare Guadagnini <strike>priceless Stradivarius<\/strike> violin.  Yeah, you get the picture!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I wince, but also appreciate the wicked glee with which this story is written:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As a former child prodigy blessed with chiselled [sic] good looks, they called him the David Beckham of the classical violin. Now he is more likely to be known as the lad with the broken Strad.<\/p>\n<p><!--proximic_content_off--><!--proximic_content_on--> \t\t\t \t\t <newsbody><\/newsbody>David Garrett, 26, one of the nation&#8217;s foremost young concert performers, had an accident that every world-class musician must dread: at the end of a concert at the Barbican he tripped and landed on his violin.<\/p>\n<p>The instrument is a 290-year-old Stradivarius, so rare that it would be almost impossible to estimate its value.
