UPDATE (11:50 p.m. 12\/3)<\/span> – Well, the mass of people had been removed from the park when the concert ended, but as of around 11 p.m., the protestors had moved back into the park, presumably to defy the 12 a.m. curfew put in effect by the city. I’m just glad that we and our patrons were able to get out of the area safe and sound before anything crazy happened (though things did get pretty tense just after the halfway point of our concert, according to musicians that had been reduced from the concerto that peeked outside to see what was going on). And the protestors are fortunate that they didn’t face the wrath of our president, Elaine Calder, coming at them with a megaphone and pepper spray!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

If you haven’t been watching the local news, you might not know that the Occupy Portland protestors have decided to occupy the South Park Blocks – more specifically, the block right next to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. You may wish to allow a bit more travel time to get to the hall in time for tonight’s concert, which is at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
