{"id":7080,"date":"2011-11-23T19:09:54","date_gmt":"2011-11-24T03:09:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/?p=7080"},"modified":"2013-02-07T20:57:46","modified_gmt":"2013-02-08T04:57:46","slug":"ten-musical-things-im-thankful-for-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/2011\/11\/23\/ten-musical-things-im-thankful-for-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"ten musical things I&#8217;m thankful for this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol>\n<li>I have a job.<\/li>\n<li>I have a job for which I trained for most of my life.<\/li>\n<li>I have a job that I love.<\/li>\n<li>That Carlos Kalmar is our music director.<\/li>\n<li>That Elaine Calder is our president.<\/li>\n<li>That we have a terrific staff that breaks their backs for us on a daily basis.<\/li>\n<li>That Portland, Oregon is a wonderful place to live that also supports the arts in all its forms.<\/li>\n<li>Our legions of Oregon Symphony fans, of all ages and income levels, that come out to see our concerts.<\/li>\n<li>My 77 colleagues in the OSO, who all inspire, challenge, and make great music with me every day.<\/li>\n<li>Everyone else who puts the music first, and performs with integrity, passion, and focus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And my two bonus things that I&#8217;m thankful for: my wife Heather Blackburn, with whom I get to play chamber music not quite often enough; and my colleagues in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/www.arnicaquartet.com\">Arnica String Quartet<\/a>, who make the greatest music in the world a joy to explore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a job.
