The the Arnica String Quartet will be presenting the first of a new annual series of concerts entitled Parallels<\/em>, which will explore the works of two related (or perhaps seemingly unrelated) composers in various instrumentations, but all based upon the instruments found in the string quartet (plus a few friends).<\/p>\n

The first of these concerts takes place on Friday, September 30th at 8 p.m. at the Community Music Center in Portland, Oregon. The two composers: young American composer Daniel Ott, and the (then young) British composer Benjamin Britten.<\/p>\n
