The categories are piano, violin, cello and voice.<\/p>\n<p>The most interesting tidbit from the competitors lists is that <a title=\"seattle symphony loses star cellist\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/2008\/01\/30\/seattle-symphony-loses-star-cellist\/\">former<\/a> Seattle Symphony principal cellist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/www.joshuaroman.com\">Joshua Roman<\/a> has made the cut. It will be interesting to see how he does.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also interesting to see how the nationality breakdown works out &#8211; here are my findings:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>For the sake of readability, I&#8217;ve made the charts with only the top three or four nations for each category (excluding voice).
