It’s a bit of a geeky pun, but the title of this post is actually the name of a “computational knowledge engine” product – Wolfram|Alpha<\/a>.\u00a0 It happens to share its first name with this week’s soloist’s surname – Wolfram.\u00a0 William Wolfram<\/a>, to be exact.\u00a0 He’s the last-minute replacement for the mononucleosis-plagued pianist Jeffrey Kahane<\/a>, who was forced to cancel his concerts with the Oregon Symphony this week due to a flare-up in his ailment.\u00a0 All of us at the OSO surely wish him a speedy recovery, and hope to work with him soon.\u00a0 Anyway, back to the lame pun: our pianistic Wolfram is actually our beta, since he’s coming in to replace our alpha.\u00a0 Yeah, I know, lame.\u00a0 Oh, by the way, did you know that wolfram is the “other” name for the element Tungsten<\/a>?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
