{"id":4709,"date":"2010-05-31T18:59:08","date_gmt":"2010-06-01T01:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/?p=4709"},"modified":"2013-02-07T20:22:44","modified_gmt":"2013-02-08T04:22:44","slug":"summer-music-in-portland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/2010\/05\/31\/summer-music-in-portland\/","title":{"rendered":"summer music in portland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that the symphony&#8217;s season is over, there&#8217;s no reason to despair!\u00a0 No, in fact, there are many reasons to be happy, for there are myriad opportunities to hear live classical music nearly all summer long here in Portland and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/astoriamusicfestival.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-4714 alignnone\" title=\"astoriamusicfestival\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/astoriamusicfestival-400x55.jpg?resize=400%2C55\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"55\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Starting in just a couple of weeks is the <strong>Astoria Music Festival (June 18 &#8211; 27)<\/strong>, this year given over mostly to the mounting of a rare production of a chamber-sized version of Alban Berg&#8217;s crowning masterpiece, <em>Wozzeck<\/em>.\u00a0 Click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/astoriamusicfestival.org\">here<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/logo_blue_chintimini.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4715\" title=\"logo_blue_chintimini\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/logo_blue_chintimini.png?resize=160%2C125\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"125\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Co-incident with the Astoria festival is the <strong>Chintimini Chamber Music Festival (June 18 &#8211; 27)<\/strong> in Corvallis.\u00a0 This festival features many musicians who grew up in the Corvallis area, as well as other parts of the Northwest. [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/schedule.php\">link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/cmnw.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4716\" title=\"cmnw\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/cmnw.jpg?resize=250%2C56\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"56\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chamber Music Northwest (June 21 &#8211; July 25) <\/strong>celebrates their 40th anniversary summer season, and they&#8217;ve pulled out many a stop to give their audiences a memorable summer.\u00a0 Of special interest is their inaugural <a href=\"http:\/\/cmnw.org\/protege.html\">Proteg\u00e9 Project<\/a>, which features many up and coming young musicians who may well turn out to be the superstars of the future.\u00a0 Portland violinist Rebecca Anderson returns as part of this intriguing program.\u00a0 Find out about the entire season <a href=\"http:\/\/cmnw.org\/scheduleSummer.html\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/obf2010-186x74.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4717\" title=\"obf2010-186x74\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/obf2010-186x74.jpg?resize=186%2C74\" alt=\"\" width=\"186\" height=\"74\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Oregon Bach Festival (June 25 &#8211;
