{"id":334,"date":"2007-05-25T13:08:12","date_gmt":"2007-05-25T21:08:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/2007\/05\/25\/gig-horror-stories\/"},"modified":"2013-02-07T18:10:58","modified_gmt":"2013-02-08T02:10:58","slug":"gig-horror-stories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/2007\/05\/25\/gig-horror-stories\/","title":{"rendered":"gig horror stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/burningcar500.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"burning car\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/burningcar500.jpg?resize=400%2C252\" alt=\"bummer\" class=\"imageframe\" height=\"252\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Doublebassist Jason Heath has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/05\/jasonheath.blogspot.com\">great blog<\/a>, and part of what makes it great are his stories from the front lines of freelancing &#8211; here is a great story about the demise of his car:<!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This is the worst gig story ever.<span>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">   <span style=\"font-size: 100%\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 100%\">I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve told a lot of gig stories on this blog.<\/span><span>  <\/span>Some of them are humorous, some are annoying or cringe-worthy, but none even come close to this one.<span>  <\/span>This is the sort of surreal tale that you might see in the movies, but it actually happened to me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">   <span style=\"font-size: 100%\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">   <span style=\"font-size: 100%\">Ever since high school, I had driven old hand-me-down cars from my parents.<\/span><span>  <\/span>Typically, these were decent cars with a lot of mileage on them (my dad worked 65 miles out of town at the time), and I drove them until they started to fall apart.
