The Oregon Symphony announced three major grant received from foundations this month – all new money, rather than repeated funding from prior years – in fact the most recent grant from one of these foundations was received in 2005.\u00a0 The education programs will benefit during the 2009\/2010 season from a $50,000 grant from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation<\/a>, which last gave to the symphony in 2004.\u00a0 The other two grants are to cover support of operations.\u00a0 The Collins Foundation<\/a> has given $100,000 for the 2009\/2010 season, and the Meyer Memorial Trust<\/a> has given $150,000 for 09\/10 season and an additional $150,000 for the 10\/11 season.\u00a0 Collins last gave money in 2005, while Meyer last gave in 2001.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
