The first week of the Sunriver Music Festival is complete!\u00a0 We had some great concerts, in particular an emotional account of the Mozart “Jupiter” Symphony and the stunning playing of pianist Yeol Eum Son in Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto.\u00a0 Son is truly one to watch.\u00a0 She’s got impeccable technique, true, but much more than that, too.\u00a0 There is a maturity and depth to her musicianship that reminds me of Leon Fleischer (especially in her encore, Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze”).\u00a0 I can’t wait to hear her again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
