The collection was purchased in 2003 from the high-profile collector and convicted tax cheat <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/Herbert_R._Axelrod\">Herbert Axelrod<\/a>.
