…ride, that is!\u00c2\u00a0 It was the eight annual Worst Day of the Year Ride<\/a> in Portland this morning, and when I woke up, it seemed like it might actually live up to its billing.\u00c2\u00a0 The rain was coming down, it was dark, dreary and disgusting.\u00c2\u00a0 But by the time I was heading out to ride to the start line, it had stopped raining, brightened up a bit, and looking like a perfect day for a winter ride.\u00c2\u00a0 By the end of the course it was sunny and almost balmy – perfect!<\/p>\n

I should also say that the ride sold out its 3000 spots, making it the second largest ride in the state of Oregon this year! And they raised a whole lot of money for the Community Cycling Center<\/a>, which among other things, provides low-income families with refurbished bicycles, helmets, and equipment.<\/p>\n
