a collaboration between the orchestra and veteran members of the unbelievable Cirque du Soleil.<\/li>\n<li><strong>B\u00c3\u00a9la, Edgar and Friends<\/strong> &#8211; so many virtuoso musicians at the tops of their game, I can&#8217;t wait for this one!<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/www.videogameslive.com\">Video Games Live<\/a><\/strong> [Nov. 7-8, 2009] &#8211; I&#8217;ve heard from many musicians that this is a great show, and draws rabid fans &#8211; a unique experience.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.palastorchester.de\/en\/home\/\">Max Raabe &amp; Palast Orchester<\/a><\/strong> [Feb. 24, 2010] &#8211; those in the know say that this group does the Pink Martini formula even better than Pink does&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/seriesdetail_classicalA.aspx\">Classical A<\/a> series:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>John Kimura Parker<\/strong> [Oct. 3-5, 2009] &#8211; it&#8217;s so great to have Jackie back in town, and he&#8217;s playing the monumental Brahms First Concerto, plus the strings of the OSO get to sink their teeth into the Bart\u00c3\u00b3k <em>Divertimento<\/em> &#8211; great stuff!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mozart Wind Ensemble<\/strong> [Nov. 21-23, 2009] &#8211; a real treat, to hear our great wind principals in Mozart&#8217;s <em>Symphonia Concertante<\/em> in its version for flute, oboe, bassoon and horn.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dvor\u00c3\u00a0k Cello Concerto<\/strong> [May 8-10, 2010] &#8211; Dutch cellist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/www.quirineviersen.com\">Quirine Viersen<\/a> will play this most soulful of cello concertos, and the program includes <em>Newly Drawn Sky<\/em> by Aaron Jay Kernis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/seriesdetail_classicalB.aspx\">Classical B<\/a> series:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bernstein <em>Age of Anxiety<\/em><\/strong> [Oct. 17-19, 2009] &#8211; I&#8217;ve always loved this piece for piano and orchestra, which is more like a symphony for piano and orchestra than a true concerto.\u00c2\u00a0 Kiril Gerstein is an electrifying performer, and it should be a great performance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zukerman plays Brahms<\/strong> [Apr. 10-12, 2010] &#8211; It will be interesting to see how Pinky does as a conductor, his only previous appearance since I&#8217;ve been here has been only as soloist.\u00c2\u00a0 His wife, Amanda Forsyth, will join him for the great Brahms <em>Double Concerto<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bronfman plays Bart\u00c3\u00b3k<\/strong> [Dec. 5-7, 2009] &#8211; Yefim Bronfman is one of the top pianists playing today, and to hear him perform the Bart\u00c3\u00b3k Second Concerto will be an amazing experience, plus hear the first and last Haydn symphonies for good measure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mahler&#8217;s Titan<\/strong> [May 22-24, 2010] &#8211; Violinist Elina V\u00c3\u00a4h\u00c3\u00a4l\u00c3\u00a4 (last seen in Vivaldi&#8217;s <em>Four Seasons<\/em>) returns to play the little-known but extraordinary Britten<em> Violin Concerto<\/em>, and Carlos Kalmar conducts Mahler&#8217;s mighty First Symphony.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/seriesdetail_classicalC.aspx\">Classical C<\/a> series:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Angela Hewitt plays Mozart<\/strong> [Feb. 20-21, 2010] &#8211; It&#8217;s been way too long since Hewitt has appeared with the OSO, and to hear her play Mozart should be a treat.\u00c2\u00a0 And it&#8217;s hard to miss with Berlioz&#8217;s <em>Symphony Fantastique<\/em> and Gregory Vajda.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ravel&#8217;s Left Hand Concerto<\/strong> [Jan. 30-31, 2010] &#8211; The Ravel will be great, but I&#8217;m most looking forward to the suite from Thomas Ad\u00c3\u00a9s&#8217; opera <em>Powder Her Face<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 Plus Mozart with Carlos always sparkles.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strauss the Bourgeois<\/strong> [Mar. 14, 2010] &#8211; If you haven&#8217;t heard Strauss&#8217; <em>Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme<\/em>, you will be surprised.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a lighter, more chamber music-like work that features major solo turns by our concertmaster Jun Iwasaki and principal cellist Nancy Ives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleviola.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/seriesdetail_beethoven.aspx\">Beethoven Festival<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211; this is a highlight all to itself, with all five piano concertos played by Arnaldo Cohen, plus the three <em>Lenore<\/em> overtures, and the <em>Triple Concerto<\/em> with Jun Iwasaki, violin; Quirine Viersen, cello;
