Alex Ross recommends OSO’s newest CD release

You can see his picks on his blog The Rest Is Noise by clicking here. His two books would make a nice companion to our CD for a music-loving person on your holiday gift list, btw.

I get a newsletter ea week from Presto Classical – a UK company – and the current issue has your “Music for a Time of War” prominently on the recommended/featured  page under New Listings, with the following comment: ”
This album features the programme performed by the Oregon Symphony Orchestra
on the occasion of its Carnegie Hall debut. It was a triumphant occasion and was
the highlight of the Spring of Music Festival at Carnegie Hall. The New Yorker
reported the concert as “one of the most gripping events of the season”.

A link to sound excerpts is provided too….

Congratulations!

Thanks Bill.  I noticed that BBC 3 played the entire CD last Saturday, and I’ve sent a copy to John Allison, editor of Opera magazine and more importantly – in this case – classical reviewer for the Sunday Telegraph.
