fEARnoMUSIC concert tonight

If you’re not set on what you’re going to do this Friday evening, why not go hear some spankin’ new music played to the hilt by some of the finest musicians around?

Portland new music ensemble fEARnoMUSIC will be giving their second concert of the season tonight at 8:00 p.m. at the Old Church (1422 SW 11th Avenue, Portland, OR, 97202) – map. Guest composer Steven Ricks will give a pre-concert talk at 7:00 p.m., and a reception will follow the concert.

Here’s the program rundown:

Karlheinz Stockhausen: Pisces, Leo, Virgo, Libra from Tierkrei (1974-1975) for music boxes.

Mathew Burtner: Fragments from Cold (2006), for cello, snow, and electroacoustics.

John Corigliano: Sonata (1962-1963), for violin and piano.

William Bolcom: Suite (1997), for violin and cello.

Steve Ricks : Anthology (2008), for string quartet, piano, and percussion. World premier.

Tickets are available at the door: $15 general admission, $10 seniors, $5 students w/ID.
