mount st helens July 12, 2008

We took a nice outing to see Mt. St. Helens on Friday.  We hadn’t been for perhaps a dozen years, and the amount of regrowth in the blast zone was pretty amazing.  Also evident was some serious rebuilding of the mountain through the latest eruptive phase (recently completed) of four years.

This great photo of Disney Hall’s facade is a great perspective that I’ve never seen before, from one of my favorite photographers on flickr.com - darkmatter.

IKEA’s fun for cats (and their people, too) February 7, 2008

We had a great day today - we got up and went to our favorite coffee house - Crema Bakery+Cafe (see link in sidebar to visit their site) - then went out to IKEA to do some browsing.  We ended up getting some small stuff that is hardly worth mentioning, then we got a gift for our two cats, Daisy and Figaro.

Photos after the jump… (more…)

viola man

Here’s some fun I had with one of the shots from the photo shoot for fEARnoMusic - OSO principal violist Joël Belgique will be participating in a work which will involve him playing a boom box - should be interesting!

Just got this done for them today - we shot Adam (cello), Joël (boom box), and Joel (cymbals of death) in Joël’s living room against a blank wall with a sheet on the floor. Then I went home, picked the best poses and laboriously cut them away from the existing background using Photoshop, replacing it with the spotlit background you see, plus shadows for depth. All in a day’s work!

Another shot from the office park near our house. I really should have gone back the same day I was alerted to this place, as many leaves had fallen in the intervening 18 hours or so. Even so, it was a gorgeous spot - I love fall!
