With the local news all a-buzz about the red-tailed hawk chicks hatching in downtown Portland, I thought that a bird of another feather might appreciate a moment in the limited lime-light that this blog is able to provide. I present to you “Bird”, a peacock who lives near the Badbeard Roastery off of Johnson Creek Blvd, wearing his Sunday best.

This amazing dessert (a viola and two eggs) is made of tons of hazelnut mousse and puff pastry, with some delicious chocolate topping to complete the effect. It’s a viola-tastic (viola-tasty?) creation engineered (imagineered?) by Badbeard himself (with upcoming Badbeard action figures) Justin Kagan. What an amazing dessert from an amazing guy!!
