close, but no cigar

Well, the Oregon Symphony didn’t win a Grammy® award tonight, but it truly was an honor simply to have been nominated. Perhaps our sophomore release with Carlos Kalmar, This England, will earn a nomination next time around.

It is also worth noting that Blanton Alspaugh won Producer of the Year, Classical for his work on: Gjeilo: Northern Lights (Charles Bruffy & Phoenix Chorale), In Paradisum (Brian A. Schmidt & South Dakota Chorale), Life & Breath – Choral Works By René Clausen (Charles Bruffy & Kansas City Chorale) and Music For A Time Of War (Carlos Kalmar & The Oregon Symphony). So, you guys kinda won, a little bit.

This is true. It was cool to even have much of an interest in the Grammys this year – and it gave us something to do during the intermission of our matinee today, finding out the results.
