Now, that was two different concerts, in character, before and after the intermission. All nicely played. The Busoni piece was awesome and in that and the Firebird you sounded like the top level orchestra you are slowly becoming (aka an A orchestra)
Heidi would make a great Countess Almaviva in Nozze di Figaro, for obvious reasons.

Hey, I was in a bad mood the day I wrote that! Actually, it’s great to hear the Rodrigo played by a guitarist who can actually play it. We had a Big Name Guitarist a few years back who just butchered the thing, it was sad, and they were just way over-hyped, especially when there are so many great guitarists out there – hope you are coming to the concert!

Charles, I thought we were over that whole why is there a concerto for an instrument which can’t be heard over the (chamber) orchestra thing? It’s 2009. And it’s Eduardo Fernandez – be excited!!! I was a fan of your blog but now I’m not feeling the love anymore Maybe next time you guys should order one of the concertos for electric guitar.

I agree on Haydn. Unpredictable, humourous, warm and human. More like Maura Tierney vs. Heidi Klum I would say. Your comments on Stravinsky are right on. Wow… it’s a now kind of an “1812 Overture” style warhorse…
