I wish we had a chance to visit the places you've described - we were only there overnight - but we'll return, perhaps over spring break, to do some exploring!

Have a great time in "El Lay" - my home town.

If you have the chance, check out the most disgustingly wonderful double-cheese-chili burgers on earth @ Tommy's. Only the original location at Beverly and Rampart will do. To truly get the full flavor of the experience, go at about 2 or 3 am on friday or Saturday night. It's a landmark of the sort that only LA can offer. Trust me.

Now, for a more ethereal dining venture, shuttle on out to the Chart House in Malibu. It's right on the rocks with a FANTASTIC view of the Pacific. Take a walk on the sand before and/or after. Save room for the most gargantuan mud pie you'll ever TRY to eat.

AND, if you see my man, Esa-Pekka, tell him I'm still workin' on bringing him to PDX!
